American certification

While waiting for IEC Ex Standards to be developed, the conversions for North America and Canadian Market follow specific regulations issued by:

  • National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)
  • Underwriters Laboratories (UL)
  • Factory Mutual (FM)

Each type of conversion must comply wirh specific standards and must be localy cerified.

 

Chinese certification

The most famous professional testing and certification authorities and engages in safety test is:

  • The China National Quality Supervision and Test Center for Explosion Protected Electrical Products (CQST)

Concerning mines, equipment supplied to China require a safety approval known as MA (Mei Anquan). Without MA approval, mining equipment is not allowed ti operate underground. Based in Beijing, it has the support of some 15 laboratories of China.
